So happy (and proud) to announce that I’ve put together workouts that you can do at home to help you keep up with your fitness goals and really challenge you. ⁣
⁣
The better news? Since gyms haven’t re-opened yet, all of the workouts can be done from home! ⁣
⁣
The workouts range from EMOM to AMRAP, straight HIIT to 100s (one of my faves). ⁣
⁣
All the workouts come with a complete program PDF that outlines instructions and equipment and instructional videos for ALL exercises (no more going to youtube to see how to do an exercise - I show you!). So it’s like I’m there in your space kicking your ass but not really. #samesamebutdifferent⁣

Long lost family members are using this time to casually slide into my DMs (#nottheone)⁣ I initially turned down the chance to go out but then they told me there would be snacks so I changed my mind⁣

Companies are now discovering how dope black people really are⁣
⁣
Someone says they don’t like soca⁣
⁣
I get caught shit talking someone but because I talk so much shit I can’t even remember what I said (this actually happened lol)⁣

The saying is ‘time heals all wounds’. But does it really? ⁣
⁣
The last couple weeks have made me rethink that as 2020 has once again thrown a curveball my way. And what I’ve realized is that time will only heal as much as you have allowed yourself to fully process/grieve/work through any traumas (big ‘T’ and/or small ‘t’) you may have experienced. ⁣
⁣
Another painful reminder is that no one will ever understand the hurt in your heart as much as you feel it, as much as you want them to or as much as you lose your breath trying to explain it to them (which really isn’t your job). ⁣
⁣
As I navigate this time of trying to make sense out of nonsense, my self care and joy are paramount. From full on meltdowns to journaling, therapy to exfoliation (trust me), and all the little things in between, I’m doing anything and everything that brings me joy. ⁣

It's been a minute since I posted a recipe and this is one I shared last month via @sweatandtonic but sharing here again because it’s been on heavy rotation for me. And if you were at the talk with @samanthaushedo and I on Monday you know I really wanted to share it 😊⁣

If you haven’t put frozen cauliflower into your smoothies yet then what are you waiting for? It makes it extra thick, adds fiber, sneaks in a serving of veggies and you can’t taste it. ⁣
⁣
I also love smoothie bowls because it forces you to ‘eat’ it slowly especially since I down my shakes in 3 minutes or less.⁣
⁣
I’d love to meet the unicorns who take longer than 4 minutes to drink a smoothie. Please tell me your secrets. I need to know.⁣

If there is one thing that I have learned over the

If there is one thing that I have learned over the last couple of weeks is that my joy is vital. And I will never stop sharing my joy, whether through workouts, recipes, words or humour. My goal for my page has always been to create a positive and safe space for expression and inspiration.
I’ve been working a lot behind the scenes putting together some fun stuff. Here is a snippet of one of the EMOMs from one of my workouts:

7 minute EMOM (every minute on the minute):
15 sec weighted squat hold
15 thrusters

Then rest the remainder of the minute and repeat at the start of the next minute until the 7 minutes are up.

Pick a manageable weight that you can use for the ENTIRE 7 minutes! You can even use it as a burnout.

Now go and try it and let me know how much you loved it

There are quite a few of you who have joined here in the last couple of days so….hi, hello, I’m Tiana. A personal trainer and nutritionist here in Toronto. I’m also the founder of the Get Right Method program, an online weight loss program for women. ⁣
⁣
My life revolves around making and sharing healthy treats and programming fun workouts for me and my clients. And because no workout is complete without a killer playlist, I am somewhat a semi-professional playlist curator (not really but a girl can dream). And in between all of that, I post the real life stuff. ⁣

Please know that I am not an anti-racism educator, but I am a proud black woman and not afraid to share my feelings and views. I’m committed to sharing helpful resources and having difficult conversations.⁣

Brian and I started the Rona Run Club at the start of lockdown as a way to encourage one another - he just discovered that he actually ‘enjoyed’ it and I was getting back into my running season (#fairweatherrunner). We also encouraged others to join in with us, which you did.⁣
⁣
Right now, in a time of chaos and in need of some healing we wanted to bring the community together (virtually) to support, motivate and encourage one another. It’s something small but together we are stronger. And who knows, maybe at the end of this we can have a rona run club reunion?!⁣
